Outrage is easy and cheap. Showing up, again and again, is what actually mends the world.
Replace one moment of outrage with one small act of repair.

If you ever forget your password, your recovery key is the only way to recover your encrypted journal — we can't recover it for you. Generate one and store it somewhere safe.
Permanently deletes your account and its (encrypted) synced data. Your journal stays on this device.
Consciousness is built to be private by default. The whole app is designed around one idea: your inner life is yours alone.
Everything works locally. Your name, streak, journal, saved thoughts and settings live in your browser and work fully offline — no account required, no tracking, no third parties, no analytics.
When you sign in to sync across devices, everything you write — your journal entries, reflections, gratitudes, moods, saved thoughts, settings and stats — is encrypted on your device with a key only you hold (AES-256). It is decrypted only inside the app, on your devices. The server stores nothing but an unreadable blob.
Only the minimum needed to run your account and contact you:
That's it. Your journal and everything you write is never visible — not to an administrator, not to anyone with access to the database. Not even we can read it.
Because only you hold the key, a forgotten password can still be reset to sign in — but your encrypted journal can only be recovered with the one-time recovery key shown when you sign up. Keep it somewhere safe. We can't recover it for you; that's the point.
Passwords are hashed with scrypt; sessions are httpOnly cookies. There is no third-party tracking anywhere in the app.
